Auto A/C Repair
Diagnosed before it gets recharged
Whether your climate control vents are blowing warm air, producing weak airflow, or emitting unusual odours, Auto Tech Specialists provides complete automotive HVAC diagnosis and repair. We restore your vehicle’s cooling efficiency quickly so you stay comfortable on the road. Conveniently located in Kearny Mesa, we serve drivers from Convoy St, Clairemont, Tierrasanta, and Miramar.
Comprehensive Auto A/C Diagnostics
Automotive A/C systems operate under closed pressure using specialized chemical refrigerants (R-134a or late-model R-1234yf). When an A/C system stops blowing cold, it is usually due to a low refrigerant charge caused by a leak, or an electrical/mechanical component failure. Our technicians use electronic leak detectors and digital pressure gauges to evaluate compressor operation, condenser performance, expansion valves, and climate control electronics.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Why is my car A/C blowing warm air?
The most common cause is low refrigerant level due to a small pinhole leak in a hose, condenser, or seal. Other causes include a failed compressor clutch, faulty blend door actuator, or blown electrical fuse.
Is adding refrigerant over-the-counter enough to fix my A/C?
DIY recharge cans often act as a temporary band-aid because they do not repair the underlying leak. Furthermore, overcharging an A/C system with too much refrigerant can damage the compressor or decrease cooling capacity.
What is the difference between R-134a and R-1234yf refrigerant?
R-134a was standard in most vehicles manufactured before 2014-2017. R-1234yf is an environmentally friendly refrigerant used in most newer vehicles. Our shop is fully equipped to service both systems safely.
What warranty comes with my repair at Auto Tech Specialists?
We back our workmanship with a 12-month/12,000-mile local warranty. As a certified NAPA AutoCare Center, qualifying repairs are also covered FREE by the NAPA AutoCare Peace of Mind Nationwide Warranty for 24 months/24,000 miles.
